Summer Time Wines
A summer tasting with Wine Captain Thomas D'Acquisto
Sponsored by Regal Wine Company and a special guest
When the weather turns warm in Scripps Ranch, the wines worth opening are the chilled ones – the crisp whites, the dry rose, the bottle of bubbles
you reach for on the patio. So our Wine Captain, Thomas D'Acquisto, pulled together six of his favorite summer pours and is opening every one of them
for you. No pretense. No wine-speak. Just six warm-weather wines, one surprise bottle Thomas will not name until you are standing in front of it, and the
chance to find the one you will be drinking all summer.
ON THE TABLE THIS SUMMER (bottles available to take home)
Pitars Prosecco Brut NV
Italy's most-loved bubbly. Light and fruity with fine, lively bubbles. The first pour of the night and the base for a Bellini.
Bertani Due Uve (Pinot Grigio & Sauvignon Blanc) 2021
Two grapes, one easy summer white. Grapefruit and green apple with a fresh herbal lift. Crisp and refreshing.
Tablas Creek Cotes de Tablas Blanc, Adelaida District, Paso Robles 2023
The splurge of the lineup. A layered Rhone-style white with white flowers, honeydew melon, and a long, mineral finish.
Opolo Viognier, Paso Robles 2023
Perfume in a glass. Apricot, peach, and orange blossom – rich and smooth, but bone-dry.
Pepin Orange, Alsace 2023
The conversation starter. A golden-amber orange wine with dried apricot, citrus peel, and a tea-like texture. (No, it is not made from oranges.)
Tenute Fusi Torre Prumiano Rose (100% Sangiovese) 2024
A dry Tuscan rose built for a warm evening. Pale, crisp, and bright with red-berry fruit.
The Surprise Wine
Thomas always keeps one off the list. You will find out what it is when you get here.
